More and more young people, convinced that it’s the best environment to raise children, come back to Abitibi-Témiscamingue when they decide to start a family. We can only agree: here, relationships are close-knit and easy-going and everybody pitches in for a safer community.

Communities have developed an impressive tool box to help children and families blossom, ranging from municipal family policies to Maisons de la Famille, and from well equipped school yards to community centers where all generations can meet. The region is also at the forefront in Québec for programs supporting children and teen-agers involvement in their community, particularly through youth centers and the municipal officials’ attentive ears to the active citizens of tomorrow. Because, in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, we all know that young people represent the future and that their development is everybody’s responsibility.
