Regional Business Directory

The Emploi-Québec website has a Business Directory you can consult to find employers to whom you would like to offer your services. The MRC de La Vallée-de-l'Or also has a business directory available.

Emploi-Québec also offers different services to job hunters.

Youth Resources

There exists a Carrefour jeunesse emploi (CJE) – youth employment centre – in each one of the five MRC territories; these organisations are mandated to promote social and labour market integration for the 16 to 35 year-olds, in particular through the Place aux jeunes program, which encourages graduates to settle in the region by organising exploratory visits and provides individual follow-up.

Other Resources

Regional weekly newspapers are also an excellent source of information for job hunters.

Finally, the Centres locaux d’emploi (local employment centres) and Service Canada offices are found throughout the Abitibi-Témiscamingue territory, and their officers provide assistance to all job seekers.

Also, job fairs are held across the region, and the Centres de formation professionnelle (vocational training centres) offer a variety of training programs to those wishing to enhance their employability.

Those seeking employment in the health and social services area may visit the Stratégie de recrutement aux petits soins (recruiting strategy) website.
